Optimising the use of water in the agricultural sector thanks to the use of flow detector leakage control systems
- Progrés flow detector leakage monitoring solutions can be installed in each sector and provide valuable information on whether a sector has opened at the start of irrigation or closed at the end of irrigation.
- With the implementation of flow detectors, the farmer is informed of possible leaks or malfunctions in the hydraulic system.
In the automation of large and medium-sized farms, where extensions prevents farmers from directly supervising their system, a key concern arises: ensuring that irrigation systems, which tend to deteriorate over time, function properly.
In this context, it is crucial to ask, how can we ensure that the different irrigation sectors are properly activated and deactivated during the irrigation cycle?
Irrigation control systems based on external modules such as Agrónic Radio, Agrónic Monocable or AgroBee-L, are the most common solution for farmers looking to optimise management on large farms. On the one hand, they allow irrigation valves to be opened and closed remotely and with minimal installation, and on the other hand, they provide remote information on the operation of the valve itself via flow detectors or the meters themselves.
Optimising agricultural irrigation by leakage control with flow detectors
One of the most outstanding solutions from Progrés are the flow detectors, which are easily integrated into new and existing installations, and can be connected to external modules together with analogical and digital sensors. These detectors are installed in each sector, making it possible to ensure that the irrigation solenoid valves have been opened and closed from the controller.
The solutions we offer for this control are:
1.- Digital pressure switches or detectors that are set to a specific pressure, configurable according to each installation, which are installed in the pipe after each irrigation valve. Allows the irrigation status of each sector to be monitored independently.
With this control we can detect possible leaks according to the opening or closing of the sector, and we can find out if there are flow failures; for example, we can find out if water is not flowing in a program that has been started, and subsequently solve the error.
2.- Auxiliary irrigation meters, which in addition to warning if there is a flow, allow the flow in each sector to be counted. This control can only be configured in the Agrónic 4500, which also warns us in case of breakage or leakage and can stop irrigation in situations such as these.
By configuring the system, the user can receive an instant notification on their Android or iOS device via the Agrónic App 2.0. With Agrónic PC or VEGGA, the controller that generated the notification also registers the action and additionally, the system allows the irrgation to be programmed to stop automatically and avoid significant water losses.
In short, the external AgroBee-L modules (which allow a greater range than the previous version), Agrónic Radio and Agrónic Monocable together with the flow detectors are presented as the ideal solution for the automation of medium and large farms. Guaranteeing continuous and efficient monitoring without the need for unnecessary travel.
