We renew the connectivity of Agrónic controllers: all in one option
-
More than 25,000 of our devices are connected in the cloud, creating a digital ecosystem that optimises farm management through IoT, Big Data and cloud services.

By 2025, all controllers that include any communication hardware option will automatically have the software option called Connectivity.
On January 3rd, Sistemes Electrònics Progrés celebrated 40 years of history, marking a trajectory based on innovation and development in the agricultural sector.
Since our beginnings, we have been dedicated to the design and manufacture of irrigation controllers, introducing innovations that have transformed farms into more efficient and sustainable areas. In the field of connectivity, we have proven to be at the forefront, developing solutions that have evolved with the technological needs of the sector.
At Progrés we integrated connectivity into our systems, starting with the first devices that allowed farmers to manage their operations remotely. More than 25,000 of our devices are connected in the cloud, creating a digital ecosystem that optimises farm management through IoT, Big Data and cloud services.
Celebrating four decades of innovation in agricultural innovation
Our journey began in 1985 with the creation of the first Agrónic equipment (Reg Control, Diesel Control & Thermo Control) with the aim of automating simple operations that would save the farmer many hours and trips to automate basic irrigation operations, saving time and effort.
Since then, we have invested heavily and continuously over time to improve the connectivity of our equipment. The arrival of the first Agrónic with modem connectivity in 1998, with the Agrónic 4000 PC, enabled farmers to manage their farms remotely, a crucial innovation for the sector.
The evolution towards Agriculture 4.0
In 2024, we launched the Agrónic 4500, an irrigation programmer that becomes the farm's information centre, integrating multiple connectivity systems such as 4G, (LTE-Cat1), LTE-M, Wi-Fi, LoRa, SDI-12, Monocable and Radio.
This device is capable of interconnecting sensors, solenoid valves, meters and other controllers, facilitating more accurate and efficient agricultural management.
Today, more than 25,000 of our devices are connected in the cloud, forming a digital ecosystem that optimises the management of agricultural resources. This ecosystem reflects our commitment to Agriculture 4.0, which integrates IoT, Big Data and cloud services to improve the sustainability and profitability of farms.
Changes in software options for Agrónic controllers
Until 2025, customers could choose between two software options for their Agrónic controllers:
- Cloud option: allowed the controller to be connected to the cloud.
- Cloud + PC option: Included connection to the cloud and a PC-installable program called Agrónic PC.
This year, coinciding with our 40th anniversary, we implemented a significant change in the connectivity of our equipment. All Agrónic controllers that include any communication hardware option (such as modem, WiFi, USB, RS232 or RS485) will automatically have the most complete software option, now called the Connectivity option, which will be integrated without the need to choose.
This change standardises equipment connectivity, simplifying business management for our customers and providing basic support tools such as the Agrónic PC and the VEGGA and Agrónic APP platforms (including APP 1.0 and APP 2.0).
For controllers sold before 2025:
- If they already have the Cloud option and want the Connectivity option (formerly known as Cloud + PC), they only need to request the code from Progrés, which will be provided free of charge, at no additional cost.
- If they do not have any software option and want the Connectivity option, they can purchase it for €100 for any device.
Key benefits of the new Connectivity option
Devices with this option will also be able to use the Agrónic PC software, in addition to connecting to the cloud. The old Cloud option only allowed one user (who had to be managed exclusively through VEGGA and Agrónic APP). However, the new Connectivity option allows up to two additional users to be added who will be able to use the Agrónic PC software, offering greater flexibility and management capacity.
With this change, Progrés seeks to standardise its equipment with a single software option, which is the most complete and accessible. In addition, this price adjustment makes it easier for more users to adopt the Connectivity option.
Looking to the future: a new era of connectivity
With the Connectivity option built into all Agrónic controllers as standard, Progrés facilitates technology adoption, manages multiple users and ensures seamless integration with cloud platforms and PCs. Farmers will be able to make more informed decisions thanks to real-time access to critical data, reducing risks and increasing efficiency.
In addition, we are committed to offering upgrades for older equipment, ensuring that all customers can benefit from the advances and thus achieve interoperability between systems.
